Nutrien Ag Solutions Canada is introducing two financing programmes for Canadian growers, with annual rates of 4.9% and 7.9% on eligible crop inputs, Fertilizer Daily Markets reported on 14 October. The options have different purchase requirements: access to the lower rate depends on a qualifying fertilizer order, while the higher-rate programme does not require growers to buy fertilizer. Both remain subject to credit approval, eligibility criteria and other terms.

To qualify for the 4.9% annual rate, growers must purchase at least 50 metric tonnes of fertilizer between 1 July and 31 December 2026. However, the fertilizer bought to meet that threshold is not itself eligible for financing at 4.9%. According to the report, that purchase may instead be financed separately under other Nutrien Financial programmes. The fertilizer order therefore establishes eligibility for the lower-rate offer rather than receiving that rate itself.

The second programme, available from 1 October, provides a fixed annual rate of 7.9% on eligible products. Unlike the 4.9% option, it has no fertilizer purchase requirement. That distinction gives growers an alternative route to financing eligible inputs without meeting the 50-tonne threshold attached to the lower rate. The report does not detail rates or conditions for the separate programmes that could finance the qualifying fertilizer purchase.

Nutrien said the two offers were intended to provide growers with more flexibility when purchasing crop inputs, Fertilizer Daily Markets reported. Eligible inputs include selected products from Proven Seed and Loveland Products; the offers do not extend automatically to every product in those ranges. Growers are directed to NutrienFinancialOffers.ca to check which products qualify and review current programme details. Those eligibility checks sit alongside the credit approval requirements and other conditions applying to both financing options.
